Mesenchymal stem cells, the progenitor cells that can produce cartilage, bone and muscle, are isolated from cord blood during delivery. Then, these stem cells are cultured in vitro in mass amount, and are mixed with the special gel-like high-molecular-weight substance. Manufactured by this procedure, the therapeutic agent for the regeneration of cartilage is infused into the articular cavity. This was followed by examining whether the cartilage was regenerated.
