hUCB-MSCs show
excellent proliferation capacity while
maintaining ability to differentiate
into multiple cell lineages and tissue-types.
hUCB-MSCs are immune-privileged and
thus their allogeneic use in unrelated
recipients does not lead to adverse
immune reactions.
In
fact, instead of provoking immune response,
hUCB-MSCs modulate and suppress immune
reactions that maybe present in the
host, thus providing the basis for their
allogeneic use and mass manufacturing
from the cord blood of unrelated donors.
